Named after a "Wild Roo", first spotted eating the lush ripe Chardonnay grapes from Jadran's vineyard before our very first harvest in 1929. He appeared at the same time every day to feed on the sweet, juicy fruit from the grapevines, he disappeared after harvest only to our surprise returning the following year, and every year after that, for many years to come. Numerous attempts were made to scare him off, but he stood his ground, tall, and defiant. He would not be deterred from what had now become his yearly visit. Since our last sighting of him, many groups of wild grey roos have been seen feeding on our vineyard, we like to think they are descendants from the first wild roo who acquired a taste for our sweet white grapes.
